Ingredients
250 grams of green beans
1 litre of water
4 stalks of pandan leaves
3 sprigs of rue
50 grams of palm sugar, or to taste
Method
- Rinse the beans and soak them in water for 1 hour.
- Strain the beans and add it into a large pot with 2 sprigs of rue (keep 1 for later), pandan leaves and water.
- Bring to boil on high heat, then reduce to medium for about 45 minutes.
- When the beans becomes porridge like consistency add the palm sugar to taste and continue to boil until the sugar melts.
- Add the remaining sprig of rue, turn off the stove to let the residual heat cook the herb.
- Serve it hot, or cold depending on personal preference.
