This is a variety of lettuce with swollen, crispy and fleshy stalk, is widely grown for use sliced and stir-fried. This stem lettuce is an annual which tolerates a wide range of temperature. Highly aromatic! Vigorous growth. The plants are peeled and thinly sliced before being stir-fried. The hearts may also be eaten like small cos lettuce.
